Aflac Group Hospital Plan “The Most Comprehensive Group Aflac Plan”

If you’ve ever been hospitalized due to an illness or injury, getting well should be your main focus. Your major medical insurance tends to cover many of the medical expenses related to a hospital stay, surgery, an emergency room or doctor office visit. Yet even with a great health insurance plan, you may be left with out-of-pocket expenses or lost income, especially if you have to miss work. Group Hospital Indemnity Insurance from Aflac can help provide a financial cushion while you or a family member recovers.

What is Aflac Group Hospital Indemnity?

The cost of a hospital stay can add up quickly. Even a short hospital stay can set the stage for financial difficulties that can last for years. Aflac Group Hospital Indemnity Insurance provides supplemental benefits that enhance existing coverage and allows members to be prepared for the unexpected. Aflac pays benefits directly to you to use toward unpaid medical bills or for everyday living expenses like your rent or mortgage, utilities, gas and groceries.

Members may choose from two different plan types, Plan 2 or Plan 4, with Plan 4 having some larger benefits. Both of the plans are guaranteed issue, as long as you are currently working and your spouse is able to work. These plans offer hospital admission benefits ($300 or $500), hospital confinement benefits ($200 or $300 per day) and various surgery benefits ($500-$3,000). Doctor visits ($50), lab tests ($25), x-rays ($50) and even a prescription benefit ($10 or $20 per prescription) are also included. In addition, the plan offers a $100 mammogram and a $50 pap smear wellness benefit. There are some benefit payout maximums for a calendar year, so please see the plan details for more information.

We encourage all of our current Aflac policyholders to contact us anytime they see a doctor. Whether they have suffered an injury, were recently ill or simply just have a question regarding their coverage, we want them to feel free to contact us. The Group Hospital Indemnity plan covers more situations than any other group plan, so it’s important that policyholders take advantage of all of the benefits they are entitled to.
