MORE GOOD NEWS – FIRE DISPATCH SUPERVISORS WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL 5.3% SALARY INCREASE ON JULY 1, 2023

As a follow up to MEA’s earlier E-blasts regarding contract negotiations and the 10% SSA for all Dispatcher job classifications, MEA’s Tentative Agreement (TA) with the City also includes an additional 5.3% special salary increase only for Fire Dispatch Supervisors as a result of the creation of the new Fire Lead Dispatcher job classification.  Because Fire Dispatch Supervisors will supervise the new Fire Lead Dispatcher classification, the additional 5.3% is necessary to maintain the appropriate supervisory differential between the two jobs.

Accordingly, if this TA is ratified by MEA’s membership next week, Fire Dispatch Supervisors will receive the following general and special salary increases over the 3-year term of this agreement:

Year 1 (FY 2024) – 15.3%

July 1, 2023: 5% (general salary increase)

July 1, 2023: 5.3% (special salary increase)

January 1, 2024: 5% (general salary increase)

Year 2 (FY 2025) – 11%

July 1, 2024: 4% (general salary increase)

January 1, 2025: 5% (special salary increase)

January 1, 2025: 2% (general salary increase)

Year 3 (FY 2026) – 10%

July 1, 2025: 5% (general salary increase)

January 1, 2026: 5% (special salary increase)

Each general and special salary increase compounds when implemented, which means that over the next two and a half years your pay will steadily grow to be 42.6% higher than today!

Congratulations once again on this well-earned additional pay increase.  Please be on the lookout for more information related to the upcoming contract ratification vote by MEA’s membership on May 2.  Your participation will be critical to ensure that these pay increases are approved and implemented.
