GOOD NEWS – MEA Has Secured An Additional 5% Special Salary Increase for Parking Enforcement Officers!
As a result of MEA’s existing two-year labor contract negotiated with the City last year, all MEA-represented employees are already scheduled to receive a 5% general salary increase on July 1, 2022.
Our current contract also allows for a limited “reopener” to negotiate additional Special Salary Adjustments (SSAs) to become effective in the coming Fiscal Year, and earlier this week MEA reached an agreement with the City for a new 5% SSA for Parking Enforcement Officers!
Accordingly, Parking Enforcement Officers (Parking Enforcement Officer I, Parking Enforcement Officer II, Parking Enforcement Supervisor, and Senior Parking Enforcement Supervisor) will receive the following pay raises over the next 12 months:
- 5% general salary increase on July 1, 2022
- 2.5% special salary increase on October 1, 2022
- 2.5% special salary increase on April 1, 2023
These pay increases compound upon one another, which means that by this time next year your pay will be 10.3% higher than your pay today.
These pay increases are the product of a multi-year advocacy campaign for more competitive pay and benefits for MEA-represented employees. MEA’s entire leadership team, its staff and legal counsel have all been single-minded in their focus to get general and special salary increases like these implemented by the City.
MEA also wishes to recognize and appreciate the leadership of Mayor Todd Gloria and the City Council for their support of these well-deserved pay increases.
