NEW 3-YEAR MEA CONTRACT OVERWHELMINGLY RATIFIED BY MEMBERS!

Thank you to all the MEA members who took the time to vote on our new 3-year Tentative Agreement yesterday.

We had a very strong turnout and the contract was overwhelmingly ratified by a vote of 1,727 in favor to only 39 opposed, which amounts to a 97.8% YES vote to support the recommendation of MEA’s Negotiating Team.

The next step is for the City Council to formally adopt a resolution approving a new MEA Memorandum of Understanding at an upcoming open session meeting, which will likely take place in June.  The Council has already unanimously approved the terms of this agreement in a closed session meeting in April.
