CONTRACT RATIFICATION VOTE FOR MEA MEMBERS IS SET FOR WEDNESDAY MAY 6 – MAKE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD!
As a follow up to MEA’s April 7 announcement of a Tentative Agreement for a new 3-year contract with the City, MEA members must vote to ratify the Tentative Agreement on Wednesday, May 6 at various voting locations.
The City will provide one hour of paid release time to vote in person (you must inform/coordinate that time with your supervisor).
The vote will be an “up” or “down” vote on the terms as a whole and only MEA members are eligible to vote. Your elected Negotiating Team and the entire leadership and professional staff of MEA strongly recommend a YES vote on this Tentative Agreement.
The four voting locations are:
Location 1:
Kearny Mesa – MEA’s Offices/Boardroom
9620 Chesapeake Drive, Suite 203
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6
Location 2:
Downtown – Civic Center Plaza 4th Floor Conference Room
1200 Third Avenue
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6
Location 3:
SDPD Headquarters – Room 513
1401 Broadway
Hours: 7:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6
(Police Department employees only please)
Location 4:
Chollas – Front Parking Area “Bullpen” (Entrance to Building A)
2797 Caminito Chollas
Hours: 6:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6
At each location, MEA Negotiating Team members and MEA staff will be present to answer questions. Refreshments will also be provided.
We strongly encourage all members to vote in person at one of our four locations. The one hour of City-paid release time is only available to those who vote in person. If however you cannot physically make it in person on Wednesday, members may vote electronically by emailing your full name and department (and your vote) to info@sdmea.org. Whether you are voting in person or electronically, MEA membership will be verified before your vote will count.
