CONTRACT RATIFICATION VOTE FOR MEA MEMBERS IS SET FOR TUESDAY MAY 2 – MAKE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD!
As a follow up to MEA’s announcement this week of a Tentative Agreement for a new 3-year contract with the City, MEA members must vote to ratify the Tentative Agreement during an in-person vote this Tuesday, May 2 at various locations around the City.
A summary of the Tentative Agreement, including a 21% general salary increase for all MEA-represented employees, can be found here.
The City will provide one hour of paid release time to vote (you must inform/coordinate that time with your supervisor). The vote will be an “up” or “down” on the terms as a whole and only MEA members are eligible to vote.
Your elected Negotiating Team and the entire leadership and professional staff of MEA strongly recommend a YES vote on this Tentative Agreement.
The four voting locations are:
Location 1:
MEA’s Offices/Boardroom in Kearny Mesa

Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2
Location 2:
Downtown – Civic Center Plaza 4th Floor Conference Room

SDPD Headquarters – Room 213
1401 Broadway
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2
Location 4:
Chollas – Courtyard between Buildings A & B

Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2
At each location, MEA Negotiating Team members and MEA staff will be present to answer questions. Refreshments will also be provided.
There is no electronic/virtual or proxy voting option for this ratification vote. All votes must be cast in person by MEA members on May 2. Please bring some form of ID to the voting location so that we may verify membership.
